Cake of the Month: Streusel Squares

The Cake Slice Bakers Cake of the Month for December is Streusel Squares (by the way, spell check wanted me to change streusel to stressful - that doesn't sound as tasty). I'm going to let my pictures do most of the talking. I will say that I thought this cake was very tasty; like a very mild coffee cake. The only change I made was that I used whole wheat flour instead of all purpose.

This cake was also great as a breakfast side. :)

Good going, Melanie...A picture is worth a thousand words. And instead of stressful, I do believe your streusel squares are indeed scrumptious!

LOVE that you used WW Flour!! I bet Spelt would work too. It looks beautiful :)

I love/hate spellcheck! Nothing stressful about this cake! Yours turned out beautifully Melanie! So glad to have you baking with us! : )

So funny that spellcheck decided that stressful was more apt than streusel - especially at this time of year. Your cake looks delicious, and I'll have to remember that whole wheat flour works well in this recipe too.

What a wonderful looking cake! I like the substitution of the whole wheat flour. I wonder how creating a mixture of all-purpose and almond flours would be. Hmmmm...the wheels are turning! Great job on this cake!

I hate spell check most of the time! I text my sister in Spanglish and have such a hard time! Yesterday while I texted my sister telling her that the tamales were done it changed my word tamales to tankers and I sent it that way...lol! We both thought it was funny!
By the look of your pictures this was a successful bake :)

I love spell check because I don't know how to spell many words. But this cake had me worried because it kept wanting to change thins and I'm like AHHH what is the correct spelling?! (I have yet to get the book)

But you did a lovely job!

Beautiful streusel squares! Had to laugh at your spellcheck comment! When I was posting my streusel squares, I must have misspelled streusel a million times...thank goodness for spellcheck!!!
